Deacetylation and Deprotection

 What is Deacetylation?

Deacetylation is simply reverse reaction where an acetyl group is removed from a molecule. Acetylated histones , octameric proteins that organize chromatin into nucleosomes and ultimately higher order structures, represent a type of epigenetic marker within chromatin

What is Deprotection?

Deprotection:-- The carboxylic function generally protected by the benzyl protecting group after the reaction sequence the deprotection of benzyl ester is carried out by using potassium carbonate,  aluminum chloride,  NaNh2 etc. Most of the deprotection procedure give low yields and a longer reaction time is required. The microwave irradiation procedure is complete in 3-10 min and the yield are high (99-92%).
